The Leave No Trace Land Ethics Policy

The Mohican Cabins would like to take this opportunity to remind those enjoying the scenic beauty of the Mohican area to practice the “Leave No Trace” (LNT) Land Ethics Policy, a nationally recognized outdoor skills and ethics education program. This program was designed to protect the natural surroundings so everyone can enjoy them.

The seven principles are:

•Plan Ahead and Prepare.
•Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces.
•Dispose of Waste Properly.
•Leave What You Find.
•Minimize Campfire Impacts.
•Respect Wildlife.
•Be Considerate of Other Visitors.

Practicing a Leave No Trace Ethic Policy is very simple: leave the area that you visit in the same or better condition than when you found it; this way others have the opportunity to enjoy it.

Thank you for caring about the environment, and we hope you enjoy your stay in the Mohican area.
